The Mature Outdoor Pot Plant
The mature outdoor pot plant is often larger than the one that is grown indoors or even in the greenhouse. This is because it has the ability to have a larger root base and has the advantage of more nutrients and natural sunlight.
Someone growing a pot crop outside can expect the plants to grow as high as 7 or 8 feet, the root base can be as large as 5 feet across, depending on the seeds that are chosen to be planted.
It will also depend on if the soil is good soil or poor, if it drains well, yet retains the needed moisture to feed the roots the nutrients the plant needs while it is growing. If the soil is not a good quality soil then holes approximately 4 feet deep and in diameter, would need to be dug in order to add good soil, because the root base is going to expand.
This soil can be a compost mixture or a purchased soil that will be added to the ground where the poor soil has been removed. The important factor is that the poor soil is removed from where each plant will be put into the ground, so it will have all the nutrition that it needs while growing.
Then with the proper amount of water and sunlight even a pot plant in poor soil will grow to the height of 7 to 8 feet in height. |
