Lighting Setup For Hydroponics

Lighting along with nutrition is the most important thing the plants need is to have the proper lighting. That means not just hanging lights on the ceiling, but hanging the fixtures so that they can be raised and lowered as the plant needs.

When the cannabis plants are seedlings, the light will need to be hung so it is closer to the ceiling. Then as it begins to grow and is out of the delicate seedling stage the lights will need to be lowered and will need to be placed a few inches from the tops of the plants. This does not matter if they are planted in soil or if it is a cannabis hydroponics crop, the lighting needs to be this close to provide the plants with the amount of daily light they need.

The only time they will not need this lighting is when they are in the growing stage where the room should be kept completely dark, otherwise this is a necessary part of their growth.

The lighting should be hung with wire or some other type of straps so that it can easily be raised and lowered, because as the plants grow the lights will need to be raised to keep them inches above the tops of the plants.
