Harvest Time For The Outdoor Refer
One of the biggest things that people look forward to when they plant a refer crop is the harvest, this will be weeks off even when it s planted outdoors. It takes weeks for it to mature so that the refer plants are ready to harvest, the male will take about 12 weeks and the female 15 to 17 weeks.
The male and female plant mature at different times for good reason, first the male has little to do except to grow. The female plant on the other hand will not only be maturing, but if there is a male plant in the crop they will also be pollinated. This means that along with maturing they will also produce seeds. The female refer plant also grows larger than the male plant and it produces sacs with resin in them.
To tell when the female plant is ready for harvesting is easily done by watching the white pistils hairs on the refer plant; this will turn from white to a red or brown in color. The sacs will also turn from a clear, and then to a milky white and when it is ready for harvest the resin in the female plant will turn a brown in color.
The male refer plant will mature to be a heavy stalk, with sparse leaves that while it is still marijuana it does not have the amount of THC concentrated in the plant that the female plant will produce.
