The Difference Between The Male And Female Ganja Plant
The experienced ganja grower knows that it is important to know the difference between the male and female plants as early as possible if the crop is going be a bountiful harvest. This is because one male plant in a crop grown in the house has the ability to pollinate all of the females.
Most people growing in the house want an all female crop and the harvested product is know as sinsemilla. The reason for an all female ganja crop is because the harvest is larger and it is more potent, the male plant of the species does not have the same quantity of THC and there are no buds.
The male plant when it is old enough it will grow small sacks on the ends of the stems that will hold pollen and if this plant is not taken out of the growing room the sacks will open and the pollen will spread through the female plants. The male is also different in size, it is usually not as full as the female plant and the female is distinct because of the white hairs that will form on the sacks that are filled with resin.
The stalk of the male is also often thicker than the female and pistils on the female will be a V shape. The males show their gender at approximately three weeks prior to the female ganja plant. |
